Quick, on anything, as long as it can stand a weekend in the rain...

This is the first post in a set where I answer questions that are often raised with me about my signs and artwork
Do you do 'proper signs'
“These are quick, really good and fun work, but what about proper polished signs?.”
(J.B. Skegness)
The short answer 'Yes' but mostly, due to time / budget and material of customers, the quicker images are the market I predominantly work with.
Proper Signs.
I think by this, JB means the sort of artwork you see on shop windows, and the shop signs that are hand written and glossy. Yes, I can and will but it costs a lot more in materials and it takes a lot longer to do. Whereas currently, some of the signs are a matter of minutes, some are hours and seldom more than a few days work. I would be interested in taking commissions to do this. However, it should be noted at the outset that a high quality finished sign can take a number of weeks to produce to the professional standard I would want to deliver and as a customer you would expect.
The reason the signs I produce are as they are, is that in many instances a lot of signs are wanted and they are needed quickly, therefore the majority of my work is in the vein illustrated.
What is the process to order one / discuss one?
“get in touch on the contact page with your ideas, budget and timescales”
It's important to note that for any signs, a 50% deposit would be required, this covers the cost of materials, labour (my costs and wages) during the process, and the balance on receipt.
In the event of cancellations, the deposit is non-refundable. I'm afraid I have to do this as I have been burnt in the past with failure to pay or last minute cancellation (and failure to cover my costs). I don't like doing this, but I have to earn a living and remain cost neutral where ever possible.
